I teach saxophone lessons at Gittli Music Studios in the J-Town Village Shopping Center. I teach all of the saxophones and I specialize in Classical, Jazz and Blues. I have been teaching full time since 1985, and since that time I have developed some of the best saxophone players in the state of Kentucky and Indiana.

For the past fifteen years my students have received music scholarships to schools like:

I graduated from Florida A&M University Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Music Education. Since becoming a private instructor, I have learned that this is what I truly love and was meant to do. I take great pride and pleasure in teaching people of all ages to play the saxophone. For the past fifteen years I have averaged at least SIX students per year making the Kentucky All State Band. Out of the 250 to 350 saxophone students from all over the state of Kentucky that tryout for this great honor, they only take a total of 18 saxophones. In 2003, I had a total of SIX saxophone students make The Kentucky All State Band. One was lead Alto in the All-State Jazz Band, one was in the Symphonic Band, and four were in the Concert Band. Needless to say I was very proud. Each year Jefferson County has tryouts for their All County Middle and High School Bands. In 2003, I had a total of FOURTEEN saxophone students between the three bands. Each year 98% of my students that go to Solo and Ensemble have gotten a superior rating on their solos, or their ensembles that they play in.

I teach Monday through Saturday and the lessons cost $15.00 per half hour. The lessons are paid for on a monthly basis. You pay $60.00 for 4 lessons or $75.00 for 5 lessons per month. We meet once a week for a half hour lesson and focus on fundamentals that will help each student reach his or her potential. Also, each year I try to have at least one saxophone recital where 15 to 20 of my students play for an audience of parents, teachers, relatives and other students. I have found this to be a great tool for students to learn how to prepare for a performance, get over stage fright, and to meet a long range goal. I try to make the lessons as much fun as possible, while letting the student know that they are expected to practice.
